Damon and I had a long overdue date night tonight. Seems whenever we go out it's some agenda or with others so it was so nice to get out for dinner alone at Bonefish Grill (one of our favorites!) It had been so long that we didn't know what to do when dinner was done. We weren't really needing food or drink from Starbucks, didn't want to shop on Dec 21, and didn't want to be out much longer due to Allison's first babysitter to attempt bedtime. So, we ended up checking out DSW, cruising the aisles of Lifeway Bookstore and then to TJMaxx/HomeGoods for a little bit. I then thought we'd better get home.
Good thing we did. Kyle had done fine and was zonked out but Allison was giving Abby a hard time. She said as soon as it was time for bed Allison was crying for Mommy. She told her parents that we came home at JUST the right time. I was glad we didn't put her through that too much longer. Poor Allison- such a Mama's girl at bedtime! She's gotten a LOT better and is fine with Damon and Grandma's but I guess a babysitter she'd met for the first time tonight was just asking too much for her. It will be interesting to hear Allison and Kyle's version of things in the morning. They were both VERY excited for her to come. We've been so spoiled with Grandparents to babysit that Kyle has only had 3 other babysitters and Allison one other and only for short times during our small group. I remember always being excited for babysitters and I think they were too. Just need to get Allison over the bedtime frenzy.
