He is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!

At church they were referring to Jesus. At 5:45 am we were referring to Kyle. As one friend told her 4 am risers, it's JUST a basket!

So, by picture time before church it is obvious that Kyle was ready for a nap.

Thankfully, he got one on the short drive to Emgenbroich's for Easter lunch which helped him pull through the rest of the day without much trouble.
Allison hit her wall today but after a good afternoon nap she she seemed to have recovered as well. It was the sugar withdrawal piled on lack of sleep- ugly combination at Kroger about 11 am. I apologize if you were anywhere near the whining of our cart. I was embarrassed and at one moment wanted to abandon my cart and just get home!! BUT, that seemed drastic and a waste of what time I'd already spent so I plugged along and we all survived. Whew!

Dental research

About 5 weeks ago I started my own dental research project. I had not been to the dentist in too long due to insurance changes and then had to visit a new provider who tried to up sell me, didn't win my trust and then told me I had periodontal disease and had to undergo deep cleaning with numbing. I said I wanted to check with my former dentist because I knew I'd had a deep cleaning there and didn't get numbed. I am a BIG skeptic in dentist offices and was turned off by many things prior to that news. (forms, pictures on the walls, set up of office, hygienist ...I could go on) I did like the dentist but too many other strikes.

So, I decided to go back to my old dentist and pay out of network expense. I LOVE them and trust them totally. In the 5 weeks between visits, I purchased a Sonicare toothbrush and used it at least once daily and also flossed and rinsed with Listerine religiously.

Well, my little experiment paid off and my gums were fine- only 2 #4's which they can watch and think will reverse with my new habits above and were fine with only a water cleaning which I prefer to the chisel method (not the official name, I'm sure) In the first appointment, prior to my habit changes, I was a lot of #4's and 5's with gums bleeding like crazy. My dentist did say that some hygienists push too hard on the gums and get high readings. I wonder if that was the case because I was bleeding on almost every measurement she took and needless to say pretty fed up by the time I got out of the office. AND, they didn't even clean my teeth. Super irritating since I had childcare arranged, etc.

SO, I'm sticking with my new routine and my old dentist!!

If Hannah could speak

We had the privilege of playing with friends from GA this Sat. Hannah and Luke came to play and I got to catch up with Kim. Allison was excited and I think if Hannah could speak it would be "Who is this girl and why is she constantly in my personal space!" (notice the blur in the bottom picture as Hannah tries to get away!) Luke didn't get in any photos. He played so well and I had to stay close to the 2 girls for Hannah's protection (despite the one time I wasn't so close and she fell down my stairs- yikes!)

Dentist

Both kids had dentist appointments today. It had been a while since Kyle had been due to change in insurance stuff and Allison's first "official" trip (she had a quick one at 14 months after a chipped tooth)

They both did great. Kyle had x rays, polishing, flouride and flossing and was a trooper. Allison had polishing and they couldn't believe how much she let them do. The only worried look came when they moved the chair up and back. They must not know her motto "Anything Kyle can do, I can do too!" She's a brave one.
