Things seem to just be a bit busy and most of my computer time has been working on Grace Kids Camp and then a little Webkinz world here and there.
We have adopted 3 new Webkinz since my last post about Wags (our first Webkinz)
Rewind to shortly after Christmas- We were in Hallmark and Allison said she wanted a webkin. I must admit, I had been enjoying Kyle's and he was getting a bit irritated at the manipulating of his webkinz world. SO, I thought - sure - we'll get Allison one and she can have the real stuffed part and then I'd have a world to manage all on my own. Worked perfectly. Allison still enjoys playing with me and spinning her wheels (big money, big money, big money is what she says while it's spinning- hope we aren't tainting her future) and she likes giving them a bath, brushing teeth, jumping on the trampolines, etc. So, Allie Cat was adopted.
Valentine's day came and Kyle told Gma and Gpa E he wanted a Webkinz and convinced Allison that she wanted the same. Needless to say they came home that evening with 2new webkinz. Kyle now has Genie the Elephant to add to his world (a mom and a dad he says) and Allison has Spot the dog to add to her world. I think 4 webkins for 2 kids under the age of 5 is just a little nuts but I also think I'm just a lot jealous of the person who thought up this latest kid craze!! It is just brilliant.

Progress!
Allison actually told me her ear hurt last night and after 2 bad nights of sleep, a week of snotty nose, low grade fever for 24 hours and a horrible cough I decided that we should have her ears checked (of course this always happens on a Friday). So, I called the Dr. this am during phone hours, scheduled an appointment and and just was very unsure about the ear thing. Allison likes to get grape tylenol, likes getting her ears checked at the Dr. and so when I asked her if her ear hurt and she said yes I wasn't sure of the motive behind the yes. Horrible of me to doubt my beloved daughter, I know.
BUT, I decided to check it out. Sure enough- right ear (the one she told me) has an ear infection.
I'll have to say I remember vividly the first time Kyle was able to tell me correctly about something (happened to be his ear too) that wasn't feeling well and it is just such a relief to not have to guess through that. She is wiping her own nose, can blow her nose really well and so life is GOOD! Guess I'm just counting the little blessings of life today. :)

Appropriate Name
We ate at a restaurant with Damon's parents tonight that was very out of character for any of us. Kyle has wanted to eat there since it just opened and it's near his preschool. That didn't sway me but Gpa and Gma thought Kyle should choose the dinner location tonight. So be it... All I could think of when we were there is that I couldn't wait to blog about this experience.
First, it starts with the name- golden corral. So many funny things about it- the fact that it is in all small letters (the word small does not fit ANYTHING about that restaurant) and then the fact you actually go somewhere they are literally going to corral you into (the 3 buffet lines) isn't very appealing to me. I'm much more into being served than bellying up like a bunch of pigs to a trough. I could NOT believe the number of individuals that were there and I hate to be so politcally incorrect but they didn't seem to fit the demographic of where we live very well. I won't go into detail and be totally rude and impolite but it was very odd. Different culture there for sure.
I was thankful that my inlaws agree it was their first and last time to visit the golden corral- despite what Kyle's opinion might be!!

Toddler Talk
Allison's speech doesn't leave a lot of room for guessing. There are a couple recent words/phrases that she has been saying that might warrant a remark. It seems that people/things that she likes a lot are "my best favorite, mommy" and when she sees an alligator or crododile = crocigator. I'll leave the not so cute ones off as I'm trying to forget. And, I would comment on Kyle's speech but it only resembles the not so cute remarks lately. VERY frustrating time of parenting the tongue. :)

Play Date Surprise
This morning Allison and her friend, Taylor, had a rare opportunity. They had a play date that did NOT include the big brothers. They interacted so well and played together great. At one point I was sitting with them and watching them play dolls thinking how different this was from the play dates Luke and Kyle had when they were 2 1/2. It was very nice.
When I went upstairs I glanced at our thermostat and it read 65. I thought maybe a child had messed with it but it was still set to be at 72. So, it didn't take me a long to realize on this VERY cold day we were going to have a problem. I went in the basement for a minute while the girls were in the upper level to see if Damon could talk me through the heating system/problem solving. I told him I couldn't concentrate knowing the 2 girls were 2 levels above me and so I hung up, went upstairs and found a VERY funny scene.
They had pulled the changing pad to Allison's changer on the floor, Allison was laying on it with her pants and undies at her ankles and Taylor had ALL the wipes that had been in the bathroom wiping Allison. I must have looked a bit surprised, asked what they were doing and got a very obvious reply "I'm changing Allison's dipaer"/ "She's changing my diaper" They were grinning from ear to ear. A definite first for us - the boys never did THAT either!! (dont' worry-no pictures to post of this happening)
Back to the heating situation. Damon ended up coming home and we had to have someone come replace a part. Thank heavens that happened and got fixed before the snow supposedly coming in tonight.
